South Kingstown Land Trust Receives $100,000 Grant from The Champlin Foundation

The South Kingstown Land Trust (SKLT) is thrilled to announce that we’ve been awarded a $100,000 grant from The Champlin Foundation! This generous funding will support the installation of an elevated walkway and improved parking—key steps toward reopening the beloved Yawgoo Trail. This project is central to advancing SKLT’s mission: to protect and steward the natural resources, open spaces, and cultural landscapes of South Kingstown for the benefit of our community—now and for generations to come.

We’re now just $50,000 away from reaching our goal to fully reopen the trail.
If you’d like to support this effort, please visit our website to learn more about the project, its history, and how your donation will make a difference. You can also reach out directly to our Executive Director, Julia Landstreet.

This has been a long time coming, and we’re incredibly grateful for The Champlin Foundation’s support.
