Learn about lichens while hiking SKLT’s DuVal Trail in Perryville on Saturday, September 21st (raindate: September 22nd). At this RI Land Trust Days event, local lichen expert Elizabeth Kneiper will teach us how to identify and understand the role of lichens in nature, and explain what these organisms tell us about the health of our environment. If you can, bring along a small magnifying glass to get up close and personal with the lichens along the way. We expect this talk and trek along DuVal’s hilly, scenic terrain will last two hours.
