South Kingstown Land Trust Outreach and Communications
10 hours/week @ $20 hour
South Kingstown Land Trust seeks an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a heart for conservation and preservation to promote the South Kingstown Land Trust to the community at large and to foster partnerships with relevant community groups. Position reports directly to Executive Director.
Responsibilities:
Create communication and community relations initiatives to advance brand identity and broaden awareness of SKLT mission and priorities
- Manage www.sklt.org website
- Create and send email campaigns
- Use social media to post news, events, and updates
- Send press releases and post events to local newspapers and other online calendars
- Plan, facilitate, and attend events such as family hikes, lectures, movie nights, and more
- Promote the Rhode Island ParkRx program, an initiative of the Rhode Island Land Trust Council
- Coordinate creation, printing and mailing of quarterly membership newsletter
- Coordinate bulk mailings
- Accept and manage rental reservations for use of SKLT Barn on Matunuck Beach Road
- Assist in other administrative tasks as requested
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with WordPress, Mailchimp, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms
- Familiarity with payment services ProPay and Square
- Ability to work in a collaborative and collegial manner with a wide range of people, including SKLT staff and trustees, volunteers, and landowners
- Good organizational skills, thoroughness, and attention to detail
- Demonstrated reliability, with ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
