Full Moon Hike at Weeden Farm – *CAPACITY FULL*
Friday, September 29th (6:30 p.m.)
Celebrate RI Land Trust Days with a walk in the moonlight!
In the days before tractor lights, the full Harvest Moon in September helped farmers to gather their crops despite the diminishing daylight hours. We’ll use the beautiful glow of September’s Harvest Moon to illuminate the trails beside Weeden Farm’s thriving agricultural fields on a special guided hike at twilight. We’ll discuss the history of Weeden Farm, listen for owls and other nocturnal wildlife, and more.
After the short hike, guests are encouraged to enjoy the campfire and bring their own snacks or beverages. SKLT will have s’mores ingredients and warm cider.

South Kingstown Safari: Trail Camera Videos with Elise Torello
Wednesday, October 11th (6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.) Potluck begins at 6pm, Presentation at 6:45pm.
Do you know who your wild furry and feathered neighbors are? Are you curious about what has been poking around in your compost, nibbling vegetation in your yard, or just passing through? One fun way to find out is to set up a trail camera and see what walks or flies by. You might be surprised how many animals visit when you’re not looking, even if you don’t live in the woods!
The talk will include: what features to look for when selecting a trail camera, what other gear you will need, selecting a location for your camera, and pointers for setting your camera up. You will also get to see fun videos of some of the amazing animals that have appeared on Elise’s cameras in South Kingstown.
